Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working campaign professionals who are committed to electing more Democrats and taking back the House majority.

Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the committee, developing and implementing programs organization wide and managing all committee financial operations. The primary responsibility of the Operations Assistant is to provide support to the Chief Operating Officer. They will be the primary contact for the COO’s office for internal staff and committee vendors.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the COO and Deputy COOs with a wide range of projects
  • Provide administrative and confidential human resources support
  • Manage the application process for committee job openings
  • Coordinate the DCCC internship program
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Manage calendar for conference rooms and provide support for internal meetings
  • Other duties as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Self-motivation and the ability to anticipate and prevent problems;
  • Possess the initiative to work independently and prioritize projects;
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines required;
  • Ability to work effectively with internal staff, outside vendors; strong, flexible team player;
  • Proficient in MS Excel;
  • Desire to work on projects throughout organization.
  • Familiar with or willing to learn Intuit QuickBase;
  • Position will be based in Washington, D.C.
