IE Director of Operations

About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary: The DCCC will be hiring a Director of Operations. This individual will be part of the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure (IE), which operates independently of each congressional race and of the DCCC’s coordinated campaign operation. The IE Director of Operations will work with IE Director and Deputy Director to manage the IE budget and ensure all expenditures comply with Federal Election Commission reporting regulations and internal accounting standards.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the objectives of the IE;
  • Administering  the IE budget and compliance documentation systems;
  • Managing complex data sets in an efficient, decision-focused fashion;
  • Producing timely reports and activity summaries;
  • Tracking all IE expenditures;
  • Serving as point of contact for program consultants and vendors to ensure a timely and efficient billing process;
  • Performing additional administrative support as needed by program;
  • Other duties as needed;

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Budget management experience required;
  • Experience with database systems, including Microsoft Access;
  • Comfortable managing information systems and building relationships;
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Operates well under pressure;
  • Extremely organized;
  • Pays extremely close attention to detail;
  • Works well with others in a collegial environment
  • Staff Management experience a plus
