About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary:

The Research Department at the DCCC IE conducts opposition research projects, rapid response, proactive attacks on Republican incumbents and challengers, and works with senior staff and consulting teams to create factual and effective paid media for the 2018 campaign. In this fast-paced office, the ability to multi-task while remaining detail-oriented is a must. For this position, previous opposition research experience is required, along with the ability to develop lines of attack on GOP candidates and execute opposition research and rapid response projects.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping to build, train, and manage a nine-person IE Research Department;
  • Developing rapid response and long term research products against a wide range of Republican incumbents and candidates, as well as editing content generated by other members of the Research Department;
  • Working directly with senior staff, consultants, and legal advisers  to develop and implement paid messaging strategy in House races across the country;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills And Experience:

  • Previous political campaign research experience required, including at least two cycles of experience working with opposition research, rapid response or similar experience; experience at, above, or equivalent to the deputy level of a statewide effort preferred;
  • Previous experience managing researchers is strongly preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong editing skills, focusing on strategic content as well as grammar and formatting;
  • Self-motivation, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork;
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must.
