Senior Direct Marketing Manager

About the DCCC:

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative, driven, and self-motivated individual interested in making the DCCC a leader in political fundraising and messaging. This individual will help the DCCC maximize its capacity for grassroots fundraising through direct mail and telemarketing campaigns. Every day you will help chart the course in advancing the DCCC’s mission and growing the Direct Marketing program – aiding in setting fundraising strategy, developing budgets, managing creative process, and overseeing the implementation of complex, multi-channel fundraising programs. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Help guide the development and execution of fundraising strategies, goals and objectives;
  • Works directly with other DCCC departments, external partners and vendor teams to manage and direct timeliness, accuracy, and high-level performance for the overall program;
  • Manages all schedules for DM campaigns, internally and with vendors -  including making updates and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Manages day-to-day vendor relationships and operations;
  • Responsible for knowing the status of all elements related to DM campaigns and trafficking components internally and with vendors according to deadlines;
  • Responsible for overseeing the trafficking, versioning, editing and approval of all DM program creative content and supporting materials with other DCCC departments as well as vendor partners; 
  • Responsible for reviewing and guiding the execution of production elements without oversight;
  • Serves as vendor point person for all production-related items;
  • Works cross functionally and collaboratively with other DCCC departments as it relates to direct marketing;
  • Manages individual projects to budget, including but not limited to reviewing cost estimates, invoices, and all other relevant expenditures;
  • Manages the internal accounts payable process, including  but not limited to tracking incoming invoices, processing invoices for payment, monitoring invoice payments, updating relevant expenditure tracking documents, etc;
  • Actively participates in client calls and in-person meetings.
  • Assists with meeting coordination, management, and follow-up.
  • Drafts all relevant meeting notes for team review.
  • Hire and supervise all Direct Marketing department interns;
  • Support Director of Direct Marketing an administrative capacity, as needed;
  • Other duties as needed;

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in direct marketing or an equivalent combination of related training and relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience;
  • Commitment to electing of Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives;
  • Excellent time management, planning, troubleshooting, and communications skills;
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
  • Able to work well under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines;
  • Excellent writing and editing skills;
  • Familiarity working with databases;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
