Polling Assistant 2018


Reports To: Polling Director

About the DCCC: The DCCC is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC’s Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. Position Summary: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is hiring a Polling Assistant for the 2018 campaign cycle. The Polling Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the DCCC’s robust in-house polling and individual-level modeling programs. This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with maintaining internal polling calendar, polling cost tracker, and polling results report
  • Proofread and provide quality control for polling products and written summaries of polling results
  • Assist with executing internal polls as needed, including preparing samples, setting up polls with vendors, cleaning polling data, and preparing final polling products
  • Ensure that polling data is stored accurately in our internal database and integrated with all DCCC Analytics tools
  • Track and report on public polling
  • Other duties as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Internship or paid experience in politics; experience with political polling is preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with web-based voter file tools, such as VAN and Catalist, preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Familiarity with Quid or SQL a plus
